WICM GmbH receives joint funding for a new student sponsorship, in collaboration with IHK Wiesbaden.

The IHK Wiesbaden, in partnership with WICM GmbH, is actively engaged in a unique initiative aimed at fostering young talent and promoting equal opportunities - the WiesPaten project. This project, which celebrated its 15th anniversary in April of this year, has been a cornerstone of the IHK Wiesbaden's commitment to society and the development of future generations.

The WiesPaten project focuses on providing intensive small group instruction and personal encounters with mentors for students. This approach allows for a more tailored learning experience, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive. The project extends beyond academics, with a focus on shared experiences that foster relationships based on trust and appreciation.

The Mayor of Wiesbaden, Christiane Hinninger, has expressed her support for the partnership, stating that education is key to participation and future prospects. She believes that initiatives like WiesPaten play a crucial role in equipping young people with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

Sabine Meder, CEO of the IHK Wiesbaden, emphasizes that supporting young people is in the DNA of the IHK. She views the engagement with WiesPaten as another important pillar in their mission. Simon Rottloff, WICM's authorized officer responsible for sustainability, adds that the WiesPaten project benefits everyone involved, creating a win-win situation for all parties.

Regular meetings are held between students, student teachers, and employees of the sponsoring institutions as part of the WiesPaten sponsorship. These meetings encompass knowledge transfer, academic support, and social activities, providing a holistic approach to student development.

Last year, participating students visited the RheinMain Congress Center and the Kurhaus Wiesbaden during "Wiesbaden on Ice". This outing was just one example of the many activities and experiences that the WiesPaten project offers. Students also received support for their final presentations and participated in the WiesPaten summer festival.

The IHK Wiesbaden has taken on a sponsorship for the first time, demonstrating their commitment to the cause. They aim to create more equal opportunities and reach young people on their individual journeys through their engagement with WiesPaten. This partnership is set to last for the coming years, marking a significant step forward in the development of Wiesbaden's youth.
