University Park Provides Opportunity for Pupils Contemplating a Sabbatical Year
Park University has announced a new initiative for the upcoming academic year, offering current undergraduate students a flat rate tuition for unlimited online classes. This move is aimed at providing flexibility and cost-effectiveness for students, especially those with health concerns related to the coronavirus.
For the 2020-21 academic year, the flat fee for a year of online classes at Park University stands at $9,000. This equates to a significant savings of approximately 30 percent, amounting to more than $3,800 over the course of two semesters, when compared to the regular tuition rate of $427 per credit hour.
Under this initiative, students can enroll in up to 18 credit hours per semester (or 9 credit hours per 8-week accelerated term). Students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and approval from the dean of their college's degree program can even opt for an overload of classes.
The gap year program also offers other benefits. The $35 application fee can be waived using code GAPYEAR. Moreover, for a full-time class load of 15 credit hours each semester, the cost per credit hour under the gap year program is $300.
To be eligible for the flat fee solution, students must currently attend or have attended a college during the 2019-20 academic year. Proof of attendance, in the form of official transcripts, is required for the gap year program.
Park University, which has been offering online classes since 1996, offers more than 650-plus courses in an online format. The online classes are offered in an 8-week flexible, accelerated format twice per semester.
