Tunisia's New Industry 4.0 Center in Sfax Prepares Youth for Tech Jobs
Tunisia has opened a new Industry 4.0 training center in Sfax, part of the innovative Takween dual-training program launched in 2020 with Swiss support. The center aims to equip young Tunisians with future-ready expertise in automation, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT), aligning with the demands of the digital transformation in the industrial sector.
The center, the fourth of its kind in Tunisia, welcomed its first intake of 13 participants. This initiative is crucial in Tunisia, where a youthful population and a transforming industrial landscape require specialized training to reduce skills mismatches and boost employability. The Takween program, supported by the GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), bridges the gap between academic qualifications and Industry 4.0 skills, fostering local innovation.
The new Industry 4.0 training center in Sfax is set to enhance the integration of young Tunisians into the workforce, preparing them for advanced tech fields and the demands of the digital industrial sector.
