Training Initiated: A Group of Twelve Emerging Nurses from Morocco and Algeria Begin Their Educational Journey

In Halle, Germany, a unique nursing training project has been launched to attract young professionals from Morocco and Algeria to the nursing profession. Twelve individuals commenced their training at Euro Academy Halle on September 10, 2025.

The project, designed to address the nursing shortage, involves collaboration between various companies and educational institutions. The trainees will complete their practical training at three facilities: Volkssolidarity Foundation Halle, Medi Mobil, and Cura SeniorenCentrum Halle Lutherbogen.

To facilitate the trainees' stay in Halle, GWG Halle-Neustadt provides housing for them in furnished apartments and shared rooms in Blockhouse City. The lease agreements for the trainees' housing were signed for the first time by GWG Halle-Neustadt during a gathering at the company's headquarters.

Ines Balzer, the area coordinator for housing management at GWG Halle-Neustadt, explained the lease agreements to the project partners. She is also involved in providing housing and support for the young nurses from Morocco and Algeria, starting their education in Halle's care sector.

Cornelia Heyner, the head of the nursing department at Euro Academy Halle, expressed hope that this project would set a precedent for future collaborations. She noted that the nursing department at Euro Academy Halle is involved in shaping the future of nursing.

The project partners are working closely together to ensure a smooth start for the nurses in Halle. The GWG Halle-Neustadt customer advisors are available to support the nurses with everyday matters, and the nurses have already learned German in their home countries.

Ines Balzer, coordinator of the housing department at GWG, expressed optimism about the potential impact of this project. She believes that it offers international professionals a perspective in the nursing field.

With this new project, Halle is not only attracting young professionals to the nursing sector but also fostering international collaboration in the field of nursing education and training.
