Traffic Safety during Peak Travel Time: Officials Monitor Camper and Vehicle Flotilla; Few Infringements, High Compliance Reported
During the current peak travel season, officers from the Traffic Inspection under the South East Hesse Police Headquarters conducted a targeted traffic control operation on Autobahn 3 in Rodgau. The aim of the operation was to identify potential overloading among travelers, ensuring safe travel during this busy period.
The press release was transmitted via news aktuell and originated from the South East Hesse Police Headquarters. The checks focused on the permissible total weight, proper cargo securing, and the technical equipment of vehicles.
A total of 21 motorhomes, including vehicle combinations and three trucks, were inspected during the operation. Out of the 21 inspected motorhomes, only four were found to be slightly overweight. In such cases, drivers had to redistribute cargo and travel utensils on the spot before being allowed to continue.
The officers also enforced a violation of the applicable social regulations during the operation. One driver faced a criminal procedure for the suspected offense of driving without a license and had to post a security deposit of 500 euros.
The checks will be conducted by officers from the Traffic Inspection in the coming weeks on motorways under the South East Hesse Police Headquarters. The use of a scale to measure the weight of vehicle combinations will also be part of these checks.
