President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a visit to the vibrant "Almaty Balafest," an annual children's festival, during a working trip to Almaty, as reported by Akorda's website. The event took place on Children's Day.
Approximately one thousand young Kazakhs participated in the festival's grand finale, which unfolded at the Botanic Garden. The grounds were divided into several thematic zones, each showcasing unique aspects of creativity and cultural development: Art Space, the book exhibition "Kitaptar Qazyna", Eco Lab, "Shakhmat Alemi", Robo Land, and the concert platform "Jas Orender".
The Head of State took the opportunity to commend the accomplishments of the festival's laureates, whom he congratulated on their success. During his conversations with the participants, he emphasized the significance of children as the future of the country.
Eleventh-grader Mikhail Shut showcased his skill in the "Kitaptar Qazyna" exhibition by reciting the epic "Alpamys Batyr". The ceremony to honor the winners of the "Almaty Balafest" festival concluded the event. Children of varying ages and abilities participated in the competitive program throughout the month, spanning literature, visual arts, sports, decorative arts, eco-contests, vocals and choreography, and IT. More than 300,000 children joined the competition.
The festival, which encourages artistic expression, cultural diversity, creativity, and collaboration, has become a highly anticipated event each year. Children from Almaty and various regions of Kazakhstan participate, showcasing their talents in music, dance, visual arts, theater, literary works, robotics, sports, and more. Each zone of the festival is meticulously designed to stimulate creative growth and foster a love for the arts among children.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, recognizing the importance of cultural growth and self-development, complemented the success of 11th-grader Mikhail Shut, who recited the epic "Alpamys Batyr" in the "Kitaptar Qazyna" book exhibition at the Almaty Balafest festival.
