Sochi students, numbering nearly 82,000, eagerly anticipate the summer holidays, a period promised for rejuvenation and active recreation. mayor Andrei Proshunin has emphasized the significance of children spending their holidays productively, creatively, and securely, given the numerous young residents who will be without adult supervision.

This year's program for children in Sochi consists of a diverse range of summer activities. They include profile, labor, and field camps, youth clubs, recreational creative and sports platforms, multi-day tourist hikes, military-patriotic gatherings, and health-improving programs. Notably, particular attention is paid to those under preventive supervision, with individual activity schedules and mentors arranged for them.

"Sreda" school on Mamaika will once again host the "Sreda" camp, ensuring continuous supervision of the children. Meanwhile, the patriotic platform "We are the support of the Motherland" will oversee 18 thematic shifts dedicated to creativity, volunteering, and leadership. Teenagers will also be offered more than 3,000 job opportunities, with participants gaining work experience at city enterprises and receiving official wages, as Proshunin announced.

As an Olympic city, Sochi's strong sports infrastructure grants students access to summer sports camps, including swimming, tennis, and winter sports training during dry-land months. In addition, many Russian cities, including Sochi, offer summer clubs focused on arts, music, technology, and science. Given Sochi’s status as a resort city, English language camps and international exchange programs are also available, offering students the opportunity to interact with peers from abroad.

Universities and educational centers in Sochi and the Krasnodar Krai region sometimes organize summer schools for students interested in deepening their knowledge in specific subjects. Nature and eco-clubs are popular summer activities, given Sochi’s proximity to the Black Sea and Caucasus Mountains.

As a major tourist destination, Sochi offers summer jobs in hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Students may find positions as guides, waitstaff, or event organizers. With numerous sports venues, students may also find work as sports instructors or camp counselors, especially if they have relevant skills or training.

Local universities, such as Sochi State University, may offer summer internships in various fields, including business, tourism, and IT. Russian government and local authorities sometimes sponsor youth employment initiatives, providing students with work experience in public administration, social work, or community projects.
