SJ-100 aircraft takes to the skies using domestically produced parts for the first time
The SJ-100, a new addition to the Superjet family of aircraft, has taken to the skies for certification tests. The aircraft, with the serial number 97004, is being produced by PJSC "Yakovlev" at their production centre in Komsomolsk-on-Amur.
This regional aircraft, designed for short-haul travels, is a product of the Regional Aircraft (FRS) division of PJSC "Yakovlev". It is a narrow-body aircraft, joining the ranks of modern short-haul narrow-body aircraft.
The SJ-100 is being developed as part of a larger program aimed at modernizing the aircraft industry and replacing imported systems and components. The corporation responsible for the SJ-100, including its production and development, is Rostec.
The certification tests for the SJ-100 are being conducted by the certification authority associated with the manufacturer Sukhoi, a Russian aerospace company. These tests are crucial for the start of deliveries to customers, which can only occur after the successful completion of all certification tests and approval by Rosaviation.
Currently, the SJ-100 with serial number 97004 is undergoing these tests. It was manufactured using serial production technologies, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability. After takeoff from the factory airfield in Komsomolsk-on-Amur, the SJ-100 has been flying through the skies, undergoing rigorous testing to meet the safety and performance standards expected of it.
The SJ-100, despite being a new model, is already in operation, contributing to the modernization of the aircraft industry in Russia. This regional aircraft is set to play a significant role in the future of short-haul travel, offering a modern, efficient, and reliable solution for airlines and passengers alike.
