Scheduled fishing trials have been confirmed
The Lower Fisheries Authority of Kreis Herford has announced the upcoming Fischerprüfung, a common app for the first fishing permit in the Herford district. The exam will take place on various dates in November 2025.
The examination will consist of both a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical test will be held on November 19, 2025, starting at 2:00 PM. The practical exams will occur on November 25 and 26, 2025, each day from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The theoretical part will test knowledge in the fields of general fish knowledge, specific fish knowledge, water and fish culture, nature and animal protection, and equipment and legal knowledge. In the practical part, participants will be assessed on their skills in assembling an angling device for catching fish in a sportingly fair manner, adding further necessary equipment, and identifying and naming fish species.
The exam location is 32120 Hiddenhausen-Sundern, Untere Wiesenstr. 55, Meeting Point Sundern. Applications for the college exam must be submitted to the Kreis Herford office no later than October 18, 2025, by 11:59 PM.
It is important to note that individuals who do not reside in Kreis Herford must obtain an exemption permit from their local fisheries authority before applying for the examination. Those interested are encouraged to inquire by phone (05221 13-2680) before the registration deadline to check for available spots.
The number of participants is limited to 120, and priority will be given to individuals from Kreis Herford during registration. Applications can be submitted via mail, the Kreis Herford service portal, or in person. No advance payments are required for the fishery exam. You will receive an invoice for the appropriate fee after your application has been processed. The exemption permit, if required, must be submitted with the application for the fishery exam by October 18, 2025, by 11:59 PM.
