Headline: CDC's Vaccine Advisory Committee Shakes Up Under Kennedy Jr.'s Leadership

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has shaken up the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) though the appointment of eight new members, who are set to attend the upcoming ACIP meeting between June 25 and June 27. This move comes just days after Kennedy removed the previous 17 members, as he alleged the panel was marred by conflicts of interest and acted as a "rubber stamp" for all vaccines.

The revamped ACIP is anticipated to discuss several vaccine recommendations, including the HPV vaccine, the COVID-19 vaccine, and reviewing safety and efficacy data for the current vaccine schedule.

These handpicked experts are lauded for their envious qualifications in medicine, public health, epidemiology, and statistics, yet their immunology, virology, and vaccinology backgrounds seem to take a back seat compared to prior committees. Despite Kennedy's earlier assurance that the replacements for ACIP wouldn't be "anti-vaxxers," some of the new appointees have spoken out against vaccines, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For instance, Dr. Robert Malone, a former contributor to mRNA vaccine technology, has unwittingly spewed misinformation by claiming individuals are "hypnotized" into vaccinating and believing mainstream COVID-19 ideologies.

In addition, Retsef Levi, another new member, has published non-peer reviewed research alongside Dr. Joseph Ladapo, Florida Surgeon General, that suggests healthy people are dying from COVID-19 shots.

Moreover, Dr. Martin Kulldorff, another appointee, was a co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, which garnered criticism for proposing to let the most vulnerable individuals fend for themselves while allowing most people to go about their lives as usual in order to achieve herd immunity naturally.

Notably, at least four of the eight members appear to have influenced Kennedy's opinions, as reported by Stat News. Malone, Kulldorff, Vicky Pebsworth, and Dr. Cody Meissner are mentioned in the dedication of Kennedy's book, "The Real Anthony Fauci," which attempts to discredit former health official Dr. Anthony Fauci and his work during the pandemic.

As of now, it remains uncertain whether Kennedy will make additional appointments to ACIP. This transformation of the ACIP and the addition of controversial figures have received backlash from within the medical community, with calls to revise the committee appointments to preserve expertise and instill public confidence in vaccine science and recommendations.
