In a grand ceremony held at the Capitol in Dietzenbach on July 3rd, 2025, Leon Dick was recognised as an exceptional young talent in the field of optometry. The graduation event marked the successful completion of Dick's apprenticeship at Fielmann AG & Co. OHG in Limburg, where he excelled with distinction.

The Southwest German Association of Opticians and Optometrists (SWAV) celebrated the achievement of Leon Dick and 62 other newly-qualified opticians from various German states. The SWAV, which represents the interests of opticians in several German states, offers a range of services to support its members in their professional lives.

Dick's contributions to the optometry sector have been significant, particularly in advancing optometric practice and education. His leadership and advocacy efforts have positively impacted optometrists and opticians alike, earning him multiple awards at the graduation ceremony.

The State Guild of Opticians in Hesse honoured Dick with a certificate and a cash prize for the best overall result in the Wiesbaden Chamber of Crafts district. He was also awarded the Zeiss Azublick Prize for the best result at the Heinrich-Kleyer School in Frankfurt am Main. In addition, he received a crime novel by optician and author Ann-Katrin Zellner for the best result in class 12AO1.

The ceremony was filled with congratulations, music, and flowers, reflecting the festive atmosphere. The State Guild of Opticians in Hesse and the SWAV extended their congratulations to Leon Dick and all the new journeymen and women, wishing them joy and success in their future professional lives.

With over 127 young opticians from Hesse receiving their journeyman's certificates, the event underscored the vibrant and growing optometry community in the region. The SWAV serves as a valuable contact point for all questions concerning optometry, providing comprehensive services to its members, including representation of professional political interests, legal advice, and marketing, press, and public relations work.
