RCCDSB Unveils Workplace Equity Audit Results, Outlines Action Plan for Inclusion

The Renfrew County Catholic District School Board (RCCDSB) has revealed the findings of a thorough workplace equity audit. The report, shared with all staff, pinpoints areas for improvement and encourages ongoing collaboration to cultivate a more inclusive environment for both employees and students.

More than 400 staff members, representing nearly two-thirds of the RCCDSB workforce, took part in the audit. The results indicated several areas for enhancement, including diversifying the workforce, promoting respectful and inclusive work environments, updating policies, and improving accessibility and support for employees requiring accommodations.

Director of Education Mark Searson commended the staff's participation and emphasized that the audit serves as a crucial guide for the Board's future steps. RCCDSB is now formulating a detailed action plan to implement the recommendations effectively. This includes pledging to anti-racism training, enhancing diversity in hiring practices, establishing equity-focused committees, and developing policies that foster an inclusive and respectful work environment for all staff.
