Program Initiates Focus on Enhancing Advancements

Unleash Your Inner Scientist at the University of Kassel's MINT-Make-Saturday!

Ready to blast off a water rocket, tinker with tech, or even create your own electronic circuits? Then mark your calendars for the MINT-Make-Saturday at the University of Kossel, a day filled with science, tech, and non-stop fun! This extravaganza is happening on Saturday, June 13th, 2025, from 10 am to 4 pm, right at the Wilhelmshöher Allee campus. Entrance is absolutely free, and no registration is needed. So, grab the family and get ready to dive into the wild world of math, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (MINT)!

Make way for the nerds, the dreamers, and the innovators – because this is the third time the MINT Hub of the University of Kassel is hosting this event. The goal? To ignite a passion for MINT subjects and illuminate their practical applications in a fun and thrilling way. This event wouldn't be possible without the backing of a rock-star network of local partners – from schools to companies to extracurricular learning centers.

From chocolate to cosmos, the agenda is as diverse as it is hands-on: Imagine testing the load-bearing capacity of chocolate bending beams at the Department of Civil Engineering or launching a water rocket with mechanical engineering. Step into the world of power electronics at the Department of Electrical Engineering/Computer Science, where you can build your own electronic circuits and get a sense of energy technology.

But that’s not all! External partners like the Schülerforschungszentrum Nordhessen, Future Space, and Jugend forscht will be on hand with their MINT vans, 3D printing stations, and exciting projects and experiments. You can dip your toes (or fingers) into programming at the Hacker School, or try your hand at a welding simulator courtesy of Schmidtsche Schack. And if you're into puzzles, the Max-Eyth School and Georg-Christoph-Lichtenberg School have got your back.

Never underestimate the power of a little participation; each active participant will receive a special surprise as a token of appreciation.

The MINT-Make-Saturday is backed by heavy hitter supporters like Volkswagen, Employers' Association HESSENMETALL Nordhessen, Micromata GmbH, and SCHMIDTSCHE SCHACK | ARVOS GmbH.

Stay tuned for updates on activities and schedules – for now, just save the date! If you have more questions, reach out to the MINT-Hub or the University of Kassel for more specific information on activities and timings.
