Endicott College, a small liberal arts institution situated 20 miles north of Boston, has recently upgraded its AV system in the Team Building Room, prioritizing collaborative learning. The college's Audio Video Services department, in partnership with Integrated Multimedia Solutions (IMS), has implemented Extron's NAV Pro AV over IP technology to transform the classroom into an advanced collaborative learning environment.

The benefits and features of Extron's NAV Pro AV over IP technology are particularly suited to this setting. The system's real-time, lossless signal distribution, enabled by the PURE3 codec, ensures high-quality content delivery in collaborative environments. This ensures that the students in the Team Building Room experience uninterrupted, crystal-clear audio and video during their sessions.

The scalability and flexibility of the NAV system allow for simple control, future expansion, and modification as needed. This is crucial in educational settings where AV requirements can change frequently. The system's compatibility with 10G endpoints eliminates the need for additional devices, simplifying setup and maintenance in educational facilities.

Centralized control and monitoring are key features of Extron's systems, allowing for easy monitoring and management of ongoing sessions. This would be beneficial in managing multiple collaborative learning sessions simultaneously in the Team Building Room. The system's ability to integrate with various devices and networks enables seamless incorporation into the existing AV setup, enhancing the overall learning experience.

The new AV system in the Team Building Room includes 10 Extron NAV E 101 encoders and 11 NAV SD101 scaling decoders. Endicott College has also upgraded the room's control system to be compatible with Extron Global Configurator Pro and the latest Extron Global Viewer Enterprise management software. The room's audio system was updated with a pair of Extron FF 220 speakers and an MPA 601 audio amp.

In addition to the technological upgrades, the Team Building Room features eight 5x7-foot Spectrum Industries InVision collaboration tables, each accommodating a team of six students. Each team table is equipped to power and connect student laptops and other BYODs, and has a 43-inch 4K LED display for local content viewing. The room's control system has been upgraded to allow the room's operation to continue even in case of a network outage, with a network switch installed in the teaching station's equipment rack.

The college has also repurposed the existing two NEC laser projectors and Da-Lite Advantage Electrol projection screens in the Team Building room. The room's control system has been further enhanced with the addition of an IPCP Pro 360Q xi control processor and a touchpanel.

Endicott College's investment in Extron's NAV Pro AV over IP technology reflects its commitment to providing cutting-edge collaborative learning environments. The college's second Team Building room conversion is currently under budget review for a similar AV upgrade, indicating a continued focus on enhancing collaborative learning experiences for its students.

The investment in Extron's NAV Pro AV over IP technology at Endicott College signifies a commitment to facilitating advanced collaborative learning environments, as it caters to the school's need for high-quality, uninterrupted audio and video during education sessions. The scalability and adaptability of the NAV system ensures an educative setup that is flexible, easy to manage, and equipped for future modifications.
