Nearly 200,000 applicants participated in the NEET PG 2025 examination, which took place in 301 urban locations nationwide.

Over 2 lakh applicants took the NEET PG exam in 301 different urban centers during the year 2025.

NEET-PG 2021: India's Largest Computer-Based Exam Secured with Comprehensive Measures

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) ensured the integrity of India's largest computer-based exam, NEET-PG 2021, by implementing a robust combination of physical and cyber security measures.

Physical Security Measures

At the examination centres, candidates underwent biometric verification (left-hand thumb impression), digital photograph capture, metal detector frisking, and ID verification. The centres were also equipped with CCTV cameras and communication jammers to prevent cheating. Strict invigilation rules included no mobile phones or electronic devices inside exam halls, controlled entry and exit procedures, and restricted movement during the exam, especially in the first and last parts of the test.

Senior faculty members, Dean/Director of Medical Colleges, and NBEMS governing body members visited the exam centres as a flying squad. Assistance was sought from district administration and police in ensuring law and order and cyber security. In total, the exam was held across 301 cities and in 1,052 test centres, with more than 2,42,000 candidates appearing on Sunday.

Cybersecurity Measures

To prevent any kind of cyber scam at test centres, NBEMS took assistance from the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) and NBE employed AI-based real-time analytical tools to detect and prevent the potential use of unfair means through computer systems. This likely involved monitoring network activity, exam software integrity checks, and anomaly detection to ensure no cyber tampering or fraud during the computer-based test.

NBEMS deployed more than 200 personnel at its office to continuously view live CCTV feed from all the test centres. Around 300 cyber commandos were also deployed to various exam centres, especially the sensitive ones. The mobile signals at all the test centres were blocked by installing adequate numbers of mobile signal jammers.

These layered security protocols helped maintain the exam’s integrity by combining biometric identity checks, continuous surveillance, controlled environment, and advanced AI-driven cyber monitoring to safeguard the NEET-PG 2021 exam against physical and cyber threats.

Candidates were offered online education and self-development opportunities as part of their preparation for the NEET-PG 2021 exam, with the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) employing AI-based real-time analytical tools during the computer-based test to prevent the potential use of unfair means.

To further their education and self-development, candidates could consider online resources for additional learning and practice, taking advantage of the robust AI-driven cybersecurity measures implemented by NBEMS to secure a fair and impartial exam experience.
