Open house day coincides with snack day:
The Circle Herford vocational colleges are inviting young people and their families to explore their educational offerings during open door days and trial days in November.
Open Door Days and Trial Days Schedule
On November 7th and 8th, the August-Griese-Berufskolleg and Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg will host open door days. The August-Griese-Berufskolleg will open its doors on Friday, 07.11., from 14 to 17 o'clock, at Jahnstraße 54, Löhne. The Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg will welcome visitors on Saturday, 08.11., from 9 to 12 o'clock, at Hermannstraße 9, Herford.
The Wilhelm-Normann-Berufskolleg will open its doors on both days, November 7th and 8th, from 9 to 12 o'clock. The college is located at Hermannstraße 5, Herford.
The Erich-Gutenberg-Berufskolleg will host an open door day on Friday, 07.11., from 13 to 17 o'clock, at Wedekindstraße 30-38, Bünde.
Trial Days for Young People
Between November 24th and 27th, the vocational colleges will also host trial days for young people to participate in classes. Registration for the trial days can be done through schools or independently via the respective websites of the vocational colleges.
Educational Programmes Offered
The Circle Herford vocational colleges offer continuous and interconnected educational programs, including qualifications from the first school leaving certificate to the Fachoberschulreife and up to the professional Abitur. They also offer educational programs to acquire or expand professional knowledge, such as in social assistant, building technical assistant, and higher commercial school.
Each college has a unique focus tailored to the regional economy. For example, the Wilhelm-Normann-Berufskolleg offers focuses in Design, Construction and Wood, Agriculture and Nutrition. The Friedrich-List-Berufskolleg offers a focus in Economy and Administration. The Anna-Siemsen-Berufskolleg offers focuses in Health and Sports, Education and Social Work, Supply and Nutrition, Design, and Dual Training. The Erich-Gutenberg-Berufskolleg offers a focus in Economy and Administration.
Partnerships in Dual Training
The five vocational colleges under the sponsorship of Circle Herford are established partners in dual training for numerous companies within and beyond Circle Herford.
During the open door days and trial days, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the colleges, their programmes, and the dual training system. They will also have the chance to meet teachers, students, and representatives from the partner companies.
Lessons at the August-Griese-Berufskolleg in Löhne will continue unchanged on-site during the planned construction work for the new building, which is expected to begin at the end of 2026.
