NRA Grants Scholarships to Top Y.E.S. Pupils for 2024

The National Rifle Association (NRA) has announced the recipients of the Grand Scholarship from the 2024 Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.), an annual gathering for high-achieving high school students. This year's scholarship winners include Maggie P. from Pennsylvania, Nate C. from Virginia, Haylee T. from North Carolina, Logan P. from Missouri, and Logan E. from Oklahoma.

The Y.E.S. program, launched in 1996, takes place each summer in Washington, D.C. The 2024 event will run from July 22 to July 27. The scholarship recipients were chosen based on their participation in the Y.E.S. summit and their subsequent efforts to introduce National Rifle Association (NRA) programs in their hometowns. Each winner has nine months to compete for the Grand Scholarship by submitting a comprehensive portfolio of their community outreach initiatives.

The scholarships are paid directly to the accredited college or technical school of the recipient's choice. This year, Maggie P. received $5,000, Nate C. received $4,000, Haylee T. received $2,000, Logan P. received $750, and Logan E. received $750. Last year, the top-performing participants in the Y.E.S. program received a total of $13,500 in college scholarships.

The Y.E.S. program focuses on immersive learning about the U.S. Constitution, Bill of Rights, and American government. It also encourages community outreach initiatives such as hosting Eddie Eagle GunSafe programs, serving on Friends of NRA committees, and speaking at local civic organizations.

The NRA Foundation, established in 1990, supports activities promoting firearm and hunting safety, enhancing shooting sports, and educating the public about firearms. The NRA Foundation also supports organizations beyond the National Rifle Association.
