New University President Michaela Wirtz Strengthens Landshut Region Ties

Prof. Michaela Wirtz, the new president of Landshut University of Applied Sciences since March 2025, has been actively working to strengthen the institution's ties with the region. On August 4, 2025, she met with County Commissioner Peter Dreier to discuss ways to enhance these connections for regional development.

Dreier expressed confidence in Wirtz's leadership, acknowledging Landshut University's significant potential. Wirtz, in turn, shared her vision to transform the university into an 'infinite campus' without compromising its educational mission. She also emphasized the importance of further integrating the university with the political and economic structures of the Landshut region.

This meeting follows a previous dialogue between Wirtz and Dr. Thomas Haslinger, the second mayor of Landshut, in 2025. Both parties sought to foster a productive relationship between the university and the city.

Prof. Michaela Wirtz and County Commissioner Peter Dreier have agreed to bolster Landshut University of Applied Sciences' ties with business and politics. Wirtz's vision for an 'infinite campus' and her commitment to regional integration are expected to drive the university's growth and contribute to the Landshut region's development.
