New Recruits Begin Training at Main Customs Office Schweinfurt
The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt welcomed 23 new recruits on September 2nd, 2025, marking the start of their two or three-year training or study programmes with customs.
These new customs officers will spend their practical phases in various departments of the training customs office and nearby customs offices, gaining hands-on experience in the customs sector.
For those in the higher service, the theoretical parts of their training will be completed at the Federal Administration School in Münster. Meanwhile, the middle service trainees will attend the customs' own training center in Erfurt for their theoretical training.
A total of 1,700 young people began their training or studies with customs on September 1, 2025. Among them, 17 are undergoing a two-year training in the middle service, while 6 are pursuing a three-year Bachelor's degree course in the higher service.
The training in the middle service lasts two years and qualifies for the professional title of "Finance Officer". On the other hand, the dual study at the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt lasts three years and concludes with the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws".
