Moving towards the southern direction
New Kindergarten Opens in Düsseldorf's District 9
A new kindergarten has opened its doors in Düsseldorf's district 9, specifically in the new residential quarter Northern Paulsmühle. This development, under the management of AWO, is set to strengthen the childcare offer in the area, as stated by Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller.
The kindergarten offers 68 places for children from three years to school entry, and an additional 32 places for children under three years. The three-story building, completed within the agreed cost, time, and quality specifications, boasts an outdoor play area of 1,250 square meters.
The outdoor area features a predominantly open, glazed facade, and mud play areas are planned to encourage children's creativity and exploration. The outdoor facilities are connected to the public playground, providing ample space for the children to play and learn.
All usage rooms for children in the building are oriented towards the south, ensuring plenty of natural light and a warm, inviting environment. The kindergarten is located in direct proximity to the Albrecht-Dürer-Berufskolleg, making it easily accessible for many families.
This new kindergarten marks the 30th AWO kindergarten in the city of Düsseldorf. Construction began in February 2020, with the city director, Burkhard Hintzsche, playing a significant role in its realization.
The new kindergarten is expected to help address the childcare needs in the new residential quarter Northern Paulsmühle, a redeveloped area of the former Thyssen-Krupp site, which was acquired for urban development by IDR.
At present, there is no specific public information available about the impact of this new kindergarten on local childcare offerings, as there are no verified reports detailing its features or its impact in the area. However, new kindergartens are generally known to contribute positively to the local childcare landscape by providing additional places for children and enhancing the quality of early education and care.
- The new AWO kindergarten in Düsseldorf's District 9, located near the Albrecht-Dürer-Berufskolleg, is anticipated to not only increase the number of available childcare places but also improve the quality of early education and self-development for children in the area.
- As part of the ongoing urban development in Düsseldorf, the 30th AWO kindergarten, offering education and self-development opportunities, is set to address the growing demand for quality childcare facilities in the Northern Paulsmühle residential quarter.
