When searching job listings, it is beneficial to look for precise job titles from the official Global Talent Occupations List and job postings that indicate the firm is open to sponsoring foreign talent.

A GTS-approved job offer can boost a candidate's chances of getting invited to apply for permanent residency under the Express Entry system. The Express Entry is an online application management system employed by the Canadian government to manage permanent residency applications for skilled workers. Candidates are ranked based on a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

After obtaining one year of full-time Canadian work experience on a GTS permit, one may qualify for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC), an immigration program processed under the Express Entry system.
