Join our school at Phil Ramacon's award-winning Open Mic Night for a live performance
The school is excited to announce a new partnership with music industry veteran Phil Ramacon for a series of Open Mic nights, taking place every other Wednesday at The Stag's Head in Hoxton.
Phil Ramacon, known for co-writing 'Buffalo Stance' with Neneh Cherry, boasts a 25-year career in the music industry, having worked with notable artists such as Gregory Isaacs, Jimmy Cliff, Marianne Faithful, and Bob Marley.
The idea for hosting the open-mic event at The Stag's Head, a Grade II listed, Neo-Georgian pub designed by A E Sewell, originated from the school's music department coordinator. The venue's intimate space set up for live music makes it the perfect place for up-and-coming singers, songwriters, and live acts to showcase their talent.
Key figures from the music industry regularly attend The Stag's Head to scout talent, and the next Open Mic night on Wednesday, 24th July, starting at 8pm with sign-up open from 7pm, is no exception. Francis Pettican, President of Fairwood Music International, is among those expected to be in attendance.
The sound engineer will be present to ensure performers sound their best, and the school offers singing and songwriting courses to help hone your skills. More information about the courses can be found on the course page.
Registering with the school provides access to free sounds, plugins, online course samples, and other resources. To access these resources, visit the Free Stuff page after registration. If you have any questions, contact a course advisor at 0207 729 4884 (UK), +44 20 7729 4884 (outside UK), or 323 282 7660 (USA).
Former students of the school include Leona Lewis, Aluna Francis, and Izzy Bizu, testament to the school's commitment to nurturing talent. The school looks forward to discovering the next big name in music at its Open Mic nights.
Join us at The Stag's Head for an evening of music, networking, and potential discovery. No prior registration is required, so come along and share your talent with the music industry.
