Irish Tech Challenge South Africa Opens for Clean Tech Startups
The Irish Tech Challenge Africa is now open for applications. It encourages businesses in clean tech, healthcare, education, and water sanitation to apply before the April 26th deadline. This year's edition aims to expand tech companies that align with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
The challenge, organized with Wits University's Tshimologong Digital Precinct and Dogpatch Labs, offers selected startups a 10-day trip to Ireland for networking and tech expertise. Seven winners will each receive a grant of EUR10,000 (US$11,000).
The initiative, supported by the Department of Science and Innovation, the Technology Innovation Agency, and the Embassy of Ireland in Africa, aims to foster collaborations between Irish and African startups. While the exact date for the 2024 edition is not public, it often aligns with rugby-related programs like SASRII, which ran activities in 2024.
African startups are invited to apply for the Irish Tech Challenge Africa. Successful applicants will gain access to international networks, expertise, and funding, all while contributing to sustainable development goals.
