The former head honcho at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), Prof Suresh, brings in his suitcase a whopping 30+ years of experience in journalism, education, and institution building. As Vice-Chancellor of Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication (MCU), Bhopal, the erudite academic championed curriculum reforms, expanded industry-academia collaborations, and greenlit the development of two new campuses in Bhopal and Rewa. Under his able leadership, MCU became the first Indian university to implement the NEP 2020, install a community radio station, and introduce novel courses tailored to match the evolving media landscape.
Prof. Suresh's illustrious career includes a stint as director general of the IIMC, where he championed journalism education in Indian languages, launched innovative departments focusing on emerging media trends, and established the Global Media Education Council (GMEC) to encourage international cooperation in media studies.
