IILM University in Gurugram plays host to the North Edition of SPRINT, a tech-focused event organized by IIT Ropar, discussing the future of DeepTech in India.
The SPRINT (Startup, Research, Pre-incubation, and Technology) initiative, a research-preneur incubation program by IIT Ropar's iHub - AWaDH, was recently launched at the SPRINT North Edition event hosted by IILM University Gurugram. This event aimed to bolster India's innovation landscape, particularly DeepTech entrepreneurship.
SPRINT fosters the innovation and development of emerging technologies across DeepTech, hardware, and software R&D. It brings together academic leaders, industry experts, investors, and policymakers to facilitate collaboration and accelerate research ideas for innovators, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs.
The event was graced by the presence of Smt Rekha Sharma, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Former Chairperson of the National Commission for Women. Senior representatives from NITI Aayog, NASSCOM, and international partners were also in attendance.
During the event, the DTC Accelerate-ClimateTech (Agri and Water Tech) was launched, a collaborative cohort with NASSCOM. This initiative is part of IIT Ropar's '100 Startups 100 Days' initiative, which aims to foster a vibrant startup ecosystem.
The AWaDH Progress Report was published at the event, outlining advances in applied DeepTech research. This report showcases the significant strides made by IILM University and its collaborative partners in the field of DeepTech.
13 startups and 3 innovators from the GENESIS Entrepreneur-in-Residence programme were recognised for their outstanding work. These startups and innovators are poised to contribute significantly to India's innovation landscape.
SPRINT offers a suite of resources, including mentoring, lab access, funding, and international collaborations, to support the growth and success of the startups and innovators it nurtures.
