Highlights on Seminole High School's Fresh Video Displays: 5 Noteworthy Facts
Seminole High School has upgraded its sports facilities with the installation of new video scoreboards from Watchfire, significantly improving the game-day experience and boosting student involvement.
The football arena at Wigwam Stadium now boasts a high-resolution 10mm, 14x32-foot video scoreboard, complete with the Watchfire Sound system. This state-of-the-art display provides clear, vibrant visuals that make it easier for fans to follow the game, see scores, replays, and dynamic content. The improved visibility heightens excitement and keeps the crowd more engaged throughout the event.
In the school's gymnasium, home to Leland "Buck" Caffey Court, a vivid 3.9mm, 10x16-foot display was installed on one wall, complementing the existing fixed-digit scoreboard. This video board contributes to a more energetic and professional atmosphere, comparable to college or pro-level venues, elevating school spirit and pride among students and supporters.
The new video boards offer more than just improved visuals. They provide an interactive platform for multimedia elements such as player highlights, social media feeds, and event announcements, encouraging greater interaction and attention from the students and fans in attendance.
By featuring student athlete profiles, pep rally clips, and student-created content, the video boards foster a stronger connection between the teams and the student body. This inclusion motivates students to attend games and participate more actively in school spirit activities.
The video scoreboards also offer advertising and sponsorship capabilities, generating funds that can support student programs and athletics. This indirectly benefits student involvement by enabling better facilities and resources.
Darren Garner, the sports market manager for Watchfire, oversaw the project. The installation was completed overnight from Thursday into Friday, ensuring the video board was operational for the Friday night game. The project from start to finish took under three months for manufacturing and four days for installation. All components of the system, including the video board, fixed-digit scoreboard, MSX scoreboard controller, and Ignite Sports software, are engineered, manufactured, and supported by Watchfire.
The Watchfire displays benefit both athletics and the community, attracting local businesses and support from the School Board and Superintendent. Moreover, they offer students valuable, hands-on experience that can lead to career opportunities.
Greg Poynor, the athletic director and head football coach at Seminole High School, expressed his satisfaction with the new video scoreboards, stating that they have significantly enhanced engagement among fans, athletes, and the broader student body. The school's decision to upgrade their outdated sound system with the Seminole High School selecting Model TC10-K from Watchfire further underscores their commitment to providing top-notch facilities for their students and community.
