First Job Interview Today for Mentored Teen, More Volunteers Needed
The 'Professional Mentors' project, active since 2008, is supporting young people in their apprenticeship search. Currently, 21 young people are being mentored, with two having completed their apprenticeships as IT clerks and housekeepers, one of whom proceeded to university. Carina Wetekam, a 10th grader at Gustav-Heinemann-Realschule, is having her first job interview today, guided by professional mentors Bernhard Boss and Ernst Blömeke.
The project offers job application training and mentoring, often for young people with migration or refugee backgrounds. Interested parties can contact coordinator Brigitte Vogler at 0561-1003 1275 or via email at [email protected] for more information. The mentors evaluate the applicant's appearance and understanding of the job profile. The project's website can be found at www.our website/berufspatenprojekt
The project seeks more volunteers from the city and the organization to mentor young people. While the current volunteers are not explicitly listed, their support is crucial in guiding young people through their transition from school to professional life.
The 'Professional Mentors' project continues to make a significant impact, with 21 young people currently being mentored. As Carina Wetekam embarks on her first job interview, the project's commitment to supporting young people in their apprenticeship search remains unwavering. The project encourages more volunteers to join and contribute to its ongoing success.
