Explore Tappan's History: HSRC's House Tour & More on Oct 4, 2025
Mark your calendars for October 4, 2025, as the Historical Society of Rockland County (HSRC) presents a Historical House Tour in Tappan. This event is a fundraising effort for the society, with tickets priced at $40 in advance or $45 on the day of the event, running from 10am to 4pm.
The tour will highlight historically significant buildings and private residences in Tappan, including several on the National Register of Historic Places. It serves as the kickoff for events celebrating the 250th anniversary in 2026 of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The event is sponsored by Beckerle Lumber and Home Centers.
In addition to the house tour, the day will also feature the New City Rotary Foundation's 10th Annual Festival from 4 pm to 7 pm at the American Legion in Pomona. This festival will honor long-time supporter Rene Rodriguez of New City Florist and will include dining, raffles, auctions, and dancing.
Also on October 4 and 5, the Nyack Arts & Crafts Walk will take place in the village of Nyack, featuring two pop-up markets, live music, and special events and exclusive offers from local shops, galleries, bars, and restaurants.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockland County and the Rockland Youth Empowerment Center are hosting a fundraiser on the same day to support their activities.
