Enhanced competition for prospective immigrants applying for Express Entry in August 2025
In July 2025, the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) made significant strides in the Express Entry system. The total number of candidates in the pool stood at 256,585, with a notable distribution across various Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score ranges.
The largest group of candidates, 53,590, had CRS scores between 351 and 400. Following closely were candidates with scores between 491 and 500, numbering 12,975, and those with scores between 481 and 490, totaling 12,890. Candidates with scores between 411 and 420 and 471 and 480 were 14,456 and 16,836 respectively.
The July ITA count was higher than the three preceding months, with a total of 7,558 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued. This was 153 more than in June. Most of the decrease in profiles came from the 470 to 500 score range, which saw a cumulative decrease of 2,548 profiles.
The Healthcare and social services category-based draw happened thrice in July, making it a priority category for the department, as announced in February. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw also occurred twice in July.
The July ITA count also exceeded those in June despite the department holding two fewer draws through the Express Entry system in July. The 12th and 13th Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws of the year took place in July.
Candidates with scores between 0 and 300 were 8,225, while those with scores between 301 and 350 were 20,534. Candidates with scores between 401 and 410, 431 and 440, 441 and 450, 451 and 460, 461 and 470, 471 and 480, 481 and 490, 491 and 500, 501 and 600, and 601 to 1200 were 13,388, 16,142, 15,201, 15,920, 17,383, 16,836, 14,652, 12,975, 24,165, and 228 respectively.
Between July 20 and August 5, 2025, the number of profiles with CRS scores between 501 and 600 increased by 2,817. The current distribution of scores within the Express Entry pool, as of August 5, 2025, is presented below:

There are no search results addressing changes in the composition of the Express Entry pool in July 2025. As of July, IRCC has issued a total of 49,628 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025.
