In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, a solemn ceremony closed the third annual "Our Grandfathers Fought" children's art competition-festival. The event, held at the City Cultural Center of the Southern Region, aims to encourage local youth to remember and honor the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
According to Alexander Dolgunkov, a Deputy of the Kamchatka Regional Legislative Assembly and the center's director, the festival is vital in preserving historical memory for the younger generation. This year, 163 talented youngsters from 21 kindergartens and schools participated in three categories: oral art, vocal art, and dance.
The winning performances are set to feature in events commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War's victory. Throughout its history, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, with its rich military and historical background, has been a strategic location and has played a significant role in various endeavors.
