The Lichtberg School in Fulda is ready to embark on a new era of education, as they prepare to start the new school year on August 18 in a brand new building. The construction project, overseen by Markus Reichel, has been a great team effort and has been completed despite ongoing school operations.

The new building complex consists of three "finger buildings" with inner courtyards, connected by a main artery. The main entrance of the new Lichtberg School will be temporarily from the street Am Körle. A new auditorium is located at the front of the main artery, offering modern spaces and an inspiring learning environment.

The success of the project was due in part to great support from the school community. Gratitude is expressed for the past years in the temporary building, which provided a reliable and functional learning environment despite not always easy conditions. The move of furniture, media, and materials at the Lichtberg School took place during the summer holidays.

Principal Frank Wrabletz expresses immense anticipation for the start of the new school year. He is particularly grateful for the cooperation shown by everyone involved in the project. The students, however, will continue to be taught in the old building until the outdoor facilities and schoolyards are completed.

The outdoor facilities for the Lichtberg School and the primary school are currently underway and are expected to be completed by spring 2026. Markus Reichel estimates this completion by spring 2026. The dismantling of the modular school will take approximately three months.

The Lichtberg School and the primary school will be separated by a "Green Belt," providing a natural and peaceful environment for the students. The construction of the new Lichtberg School took three years and is considered the largest in the Fulda district for many years.

This move marks a significant milestone for the Lichtberg School and the Fulda district, offering a fresh start for students and staff alike. The new building is a testament to the power of community support and cooperation, and the school looks forward to the many opportunities that lie ahead.

The new Lichtberg School's building, filled with modern spaces and an inspiring learning environment, is preparing for education-and-self-development, as it prepares to welcome students in August. The success of this project, marked by the construction of three "finger buildings" with inner courtyards, was due to the great support from the school community.
