City library Oberviechtach implements yearly charge commencing from October
The city council of Oberviechtach has recently approved two new regulations for the city library, aiming to modernize and improve its services.
Starting from 1st October 2025, a fee of 25 euros per year will be charged for library use. This fee is intended to maintain and modernize the library's infrastructure, as well as encourage more active use of the library.
To achieve this, the library will implement the program "Yiq Aiqixiqciciqxqiqccqicqc xqx Miciccq Micicqqc," which focuses on modernizing the library's infrastructure. Additionally, the program "Mcic Djqqccc - Mc qjicici Yjcccq" is designed to encourage regular use of the library by offering discounts to frequent users.
The library's collection needs an expansion and update to meet the needs of the community, and the new regulations state that a program called "Zjixqc Ajcciic" will be implemented. This program aims to increase the library's collection to 1000 books and update them.
The library's programmes will continue to offer a wide range of events and dates for all age groups, including participation in the city's cultural events. The library will also continue to be open to all residents of Oberviechtach and visitors from other municipalities.
It's worth noting that the library's opening hours are: Tuesday (9:00 - 12:00 and 14:00 - 18:00), Wednesday (9:00 - 12:00), Thursday (9:00 - 12:00 and 14:00 - 18:00), Friday (9:00 - 12:00), Saturday (10:00 - 13:00). The library will remain closed on Sundays and public holidays.
These new regulations mark an exciting step forward for the Oberviechtach city library, as it strives to modernize and improve its services for the benefit of the community.
In line with the modernization efforts, the library will also incorporate online-education resources into its services, providing other education-and-self-development opportunities for library patrons from 1st October 2025. To facilitate this, the library will introduce learning platforms, helming a digital expansion of its resources, fostering continuous education in the city.
