Business school at Panjab University awards Phalguni with record-breaking ₹25-lakh package this season.

A Huge Placement Win for Phalguni Gupta 🚀

Meet Phalguni Gupta, the 25-year-old powerhouse from Chandigarh who's grabbing headlines! After sailing through prestigious schools like Sacred Heart and Bhavan Vidyalaya and earning a BCom Honours from GGDSD College, she's currently making waves with her MBA at University Business School (UBS), Panjab University.

Why all the fuss? Well, she's just landed the biggest campus placement offer in this year's recruitment drive—a whopping ₹25.11 lakh per annum—from none other than American Express!

Phalguni, a proud Chandigarh local, credits her internship with American Express during her MBA for securing this fabulous offer. And she's quick to thank the faculty at UBS, who lent stellar support that helped her land her summer internship and learn valuable skills from her peers.

85% of UBS students landed placements this season, with an average package of ₹12.95 lakh per annum (LPA). That's a hefty improvement from last year, when the average package was ₹12.43 LPA.

More than 55 recruiters, including American Express, Adobe, Deloitte, KPMG and over 25 fresh faces took part in the recruitment drive, covering various sectors like IT, finance, consulting, e-commerce, and FMCG.

The in-demand roles this season were business analytics, business development, sales and marketing, operations, supply chain management, financial analysis, HR analytics, HR business partner, and talent acquisition. Top-performing sectors included IT & software, finance, consulting, and e-commerce.

Chairperson Parmjit Kaur, who doubles as dean of business management and commerce, attributes UBS's achievement to its collaborative approach, involving faculty, corporate mentors, alumni, and training professionals to cultivate globally competent professionals [1][2].

However, this year's package figures are slightly lower than in previous years. In 2022, a student scored a staggering ₹58 LPA from the Tolaram Group. The same group offered a ₹58 LPA package in 2021, but the Tolaram Group hasn't participated in placements for the last couple of years due to a lack of open positions [3]. But fear not! The university's faculty promises to keep collaborating with various employers to ensure the best opportunities for their students. 🤝
