Awqaf Dubai's Education Endowments Reach AED472 Million in 2025
Assets under the management of Dubai's Endowment and Minors' Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai) for supporting education reached AED472 million in 2025. These funds, consisting of 51 assets including real estate and financial investments, are dedicated to empowering students and promoting a sustainable society.
The portfolio's growth is attributed to several significant contributions. In 2024, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum donated stocks worth AED20 million, followed by an Emirati philanthropist who contributed shares valued at the same amount later that year. This marked the most recent endowment, building upon the foundation laid in 2017 when Awqaf Dubai registered its first educational endowment with a AED25 million donation from an Emirati woman.
Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai, underscored the foundation's commitment to ensuring equitable access to quality education. In 2024 alone, Awqaf Dubai disbursed AED5.3 million in scholarships, benefiting 2,079 students across 16 educational institutions. These investments align with the UAE National Agenda and the Year of Community campaign, strengthening educational opportunities for the nation's youth.
With assets reaching AED472 million in 2025, Awqaf Dubai's endowment funds play a strategic role in empowering students and contributing to a sustainable society. The foundation's commitment to equitable access to quality education is evident in the scholarships disbursed and the support provided to 16 educational institutions. As the portfolio continues to grow, so too will the positive impact on the UAE's educational landscape.
