Autumn's Arrival Brings Rain, Wind, and Frost to Germany

Autumn has officially begun in Germany, bringing cooler weather and varied temperature conditions. This week, residents can expect rain, wind, and even frost in some regions.

The weekend will see a significant increase in wind, with rain setting in during the day, particularly in North and Central Germany. Strong gusts are forecast, making travel difficult in these areas. Fog is also expected to form more frequently in valleys and basins, especially in the Bavarian Danube region and Lake Constance region, where temperature is abundant.

Temperature are predicted to drop below zero in some places overnight, with frost possible in the southeast. October starts on the cooler side, with less sunshine than usual, except in the Alpine region. A storm sweeping over the British Isles will bring strong winds to Germany by the weekend.

Autumn has arrived on time this year, with September feeling generally cooler due to a fresh last week and below-average sunshine. The first frost in October is possible this week, with temperature dropping to just above freezing on Friday night, especially in the southeast. However, not all parts of Germany will experience frost or wind equally.

Heavy autumn rain has already affected southern states, with significant rainfall in Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, and the Saarland. The autumn weather forecast indicates a continuation of varied conditions, with periods of rain, especially in the north and west, while the east remains relatively dry. Residents are advised to stay updated with local weather reports and take necessary precautions.
