Apply Now: Fulbright Scholar Award at University of Iceland for Folkloristics Ph.D.
Applications are now open for the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Award at the University of Iceland. The Department of Folkloristics is seeking a Ph.D. holder in folkloristics to teach and conduct research during the 2026-2027 academic year.
The selected candidate will receive an award allowance of $4,000 per month, or $4,500 per month if they have a dependent or dependents. Additionally, travel and baggage allowances will be provided. The grantee will teach a graduate level seminar and an undergraduate level lecture course during their stay.
The grant activity can take place in either the Fall semester of 2026 or the Spring semester of 2027, with grant dates spanning from mid-August to December 2026 or January to May 2027. Preference will be given to candidates willing to advise students on research projects related to their field of expertise.
The application deadline is Monday, September 15, 2025. Only applicants with a Ph.D. (or other terminal degree) in folkloristics will be considered for the award. The host institution for the Fulbright Scholar Award is the Department of Folkloristics at the University of Iceland.
