Annual Los Angeles County Science and Technology Exhibition
The Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles is set to host a series of exciting events in the coming months, including a memorial service, a science fair, and the premiere of a new musical.
On April 18, 2023, a Memorial Service for USC graduate students Ying Wu and Ming Qu will take place at the historical Shrine Auditorium. The event is being organized by USC media officials, and student leaders representing USC will be in attendance. The Memorial Service is open to the public.
From March 9-10, 2025, the Shrine Auditorium will play host to the 75th annual Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF). Approximately 1,400 students in grades 6-12 from over 140 schools across LA County will participate. This fair is a qualifying event for the California State Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF), Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (JIC) and the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). The LACSEF depends on the generosity of donors and sponsors to provide this STEM opportunity to Los Angeles County students.
On March 9th, 2025, visitors will have the opportunity to view student projects and educational interactive exhibits at the Shrine Expo center from 11am-3pm. Admission is free for visitors on this day. The LACSEF is a non-profit 501c3 organization run solely by volunteers.
In a unique turn of events, the Shrine Auditorium will also be the venue for the premiere of 'Loving the Silent Tears', a new musical. The premiere is being reported by Los Cerritos Community Newspaper and is being touted as the first of its kind. The exact date for the premiere has not been announced yet, but it is expected to take place in October 2023.
While the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall is primarily used for concerts, entertainment shows, and special televised events, it seems that 2023 and 2025 are shaping up to be years of diverse events at this iconic venue.
