102 New Prison Officers Graduate in Baden-Württemberg

Up to 120 new recruits commence training twice a year, on April 1st and October 1st, in the intermediate full-time and workshop service for prison officers in Baden-Württemberg. The third annual ceremony recently honoured 102 graduates, with Minister of Justice and Migration Marion Gentges presenting certificates and congratulations.

Before her political role, Marion Gentges worked as a lawyer. She praised the graduates' achievements, highlighting the top scorers: Mr. Handke from Heimsheim Prison in the full-time service (12.68 points) and Ms. Goetz from Schwäbisch Gmünd Prison in the workshop service (11.55 points).

The 18 to 24-month practical training in prisons and the Education Center for Prison Service equips graduates to play a crucial role in maintaining internal security and upholding the rule of law. The average scores reflected dedication: 8.93 points for full-time service graduates and 9.01 points for workshop service graduates.

The successful completion of the intermediate full-time and workshop service by these 102 graduates strengthens Baden-Württemberg's prison service. Their skills and commitment will be vital in ensuring the safety and security of prisons and the wider community.
